Aladdin Theatre for the Performing Arts was subsequently constructed to replace the golf course in 1976, integrated with five sold-out shows of Neil Diamond. While the hotel struggled to make ends meet, the center was the venue's primary revenue stream. It quickly became the crown jewel of rock and roll acts and remained a popular spot until the renovation in 2000. Several reasons, including the hotel's position and design, led to its untimely demise in 2005. Planet Hollywood Hotel took its place in 2007 and the venue became a hotbed for international entertainment.
